Default Knock sensor settings 2005 vs 2007

I just checked the part numbers for the 2005 and 2007 cars and noted they are the same. In the tune though, the sensor settings for a stock 2007 differ greatly than a 2005 car.

Thoughts on this?

2007 LS2 should be near identical to 2005 LS2... what gives?

2005 came with older "243" heads, they upgraded on 2007. Possible difference in head design causing difference ?

Do you think the detonation frequency would be that far off? the blocks are the same... The base voltage for the knock sensor is 400mv for 05 and 120 mv for 07...

I've compared 2005, 2006, and 2007 bin files. The 2005 had 400mv Base threshold while 2006-07 had 120mv. The Gain for each cylinder is more sensitive for the 06-07 while the transient is less sensitive. Since 06 had little engine difference vs 05, I tried running the 06 settings and found my knock retard all but gone at WOT. I will try bringing back the timing now. The part throttle "burst" type knock can be replicated by say flooring it at 70 mph and 6th gear, but for the most part its 1-2 degrees at best and the decay rate cleans it up without it returning indicating its just me upsetting the airflow with my foot. So I think I can live with "more sensitive" settings which are better attuned to true knock rather than the false knock it was reading all over the place. (verified false via using less timing, higher octane and still getting KR, plugs showed clean, nice tan color).

Have you had any further issues with using the 2006 settings? I am having the same problem on a completely stock 2005 engine with the stock original tune. Even with octane booster it behaves the same. The lifters are pretty loud on my engine (it's old, high miles) so I wonder if that's creating some false knock or something

I think I'm going to give the 2006 settings a try real quick
