Gauge needless off.......correction???
Wasn't real sure where to post this, but anyways. After swapping rearends today, I decided to put black tape over the my ASR OFF and ABS INOP lights so they wouldn't bother me. Well, I wasn't sure about how to do it, and couldn't really find anything out here other than just taping over a bulb. But to make a long story short, I pulled the needles off (when I later found out I didn't even need to) and now they seem off. I didn't even think about writing down or taking a picture or something. (I know.....I'm retarded ) Is there anyway of getting them back right? Tried searching for something like this, but came up empty handed. Thanks for your help.

can u pull them off again when they are on and then go about making the adjustments? thats what i would do but i dont think you will get them back right as i know the oil-temp gauges dont zero out when u turn off the key....try remembering what ur car was like before and go by that...well if its cold the temp should be cold and pressure bout half way??

I did this on an older GM of mine too...
I drove around for about a week with the clear plastic housing off of the gauge cluster, with the cluster installed in the dash.
Gas - fill up the tank set to full.
ECT - bring the engine up to temp, set at specific temp.
RPM, Speed, Oil pressure - turn key on don't start engine, zero out.
Battery - 14.5V at idle (can be verified with meter on battery terminals).
etc. etc.
