I started my car on Friday night and after about 60 seconds the service engine soon light came on. I am unsure what code I am throwing, or how to figure it out. I know I need a diagnostics tool, but what kind. My buddy has an obd2 tool that he uses on his 00 tacoma, but I am sure that wont work will it??? Also the seems to be running normal with no loss of power or anything odd, so I think it might be an 02 sensor or another sensor? What do I do.

His tool will probably give you the code. If not, Auto Zone can scan it for you.

Ok, the code I got was P0410 - Secondary Air Injection System. This is for the secondary air pump that sucks when the car is initially started. I unplugged it, is that bad to have it unplugged?
