I have a 99 Camaro with a cam only ls1 6spd, bolt-ons and a ls6 intake. Cam is a XER287HR-12 238 240 duration, .605 .609 lift @ 112. The power range is from 2800-7200 and I am wanting to know what someone would turn the rev limiter up to with this cam and a stock 853 head? I have it set at 6500 and it pulls up fine no problem, still pulls great, but being a stock bottom end with 125k miles what will it hold? lol
I went to the track this last weekend and ran 12.27 @ 113, 1.88 60ft, 7.94 @ 90 in the 8th. And 10.67@ 125 on a 150 shot, 1.50 60ft, 6.83 @ 101 in the 8th. I'm letting out early on bottle because im running out of gear, I have 4.10s and a 27 tall Hoosier QTP. What would you all suggest?
a 99 doesnt have the ls6 style rod bolt so i'd say 67-6800 should be the top limit but people have pushed harder. the cam will hold power there so bumping it up might help..
the real question i would be asking though is why did your car only trap 113 with bolt ons and a large cam? what is your altitude/da? 113 are bolt on traps
I was having bad '60s do to suspension issues, which I figured out right before the track closed and wanted a bottle pass. so I made my last 2 passes on bottle. NA runs I started the day with 2.2 60s and got best of 1.88 with a 12.27. bottle pass I pulled a 1.51 leaving somewhat easy. And I may have even let out early, that may be why the MPH was low.
