Probably a Stupid Question, But... I previously had the stock PCM in my 98 Trans Am, which was tuned by my buddy with HPTuners. Later on, I had a full dyno tune done at a shop. When this was done, the tuner upgraded to the 99+ PCM. After he repinned and installed this, he saved the tune information on it with the VIN number for my car.
Fast forward... I'm now doing an engine swap and will need a base tune to get the car running, prior to getting back to a dyno. My credits for my old PCM are still saved on my buddy's HPTuners. With it being a different PCM than the one we used back then, would we be able to tune it through his without having to buy new credits? With it being a different module, but with the same VIN, I wasn't sure.
Any insight would be appreciated. Sorry if this is a retarded question. I'm not very educated on the tuning end of this crap. Thanks.

Not what I was hoping to hear, but oh well, lol. I may just do a mail order for a base tune then. I'll keep you guys in mind if I decide to go that route. Thanks for the help.
