Innova Quicklink?

Innova Quicklink? I've been reading for MANY hours about PCM tuning and whatnot and before I take the plunge and start throwing money into a spare PCM to mess up on, cables & whatnot I figured I'd see on the off chance if something I already have might be able to work and to what extent exactly.
I have the Innova Quicklink bluetooth obdii scanner. It does scan, it has several guages and can create very choppy logs, but is there anything more that I could make this thing work for and would I even want it to attempt more (I'm pretty sure the app is what made it choppy but who really knows)?
Any insight is appreciated and any criticism will be duly noted.
