Default HPT Scanner newb question

I have been using HP for a while and have self taught a lot of things and had some help along the way. The scanner configurations have been my short fall. When you buy HP, it has two default files.(metric and imperial) I would like to set up a configure file to data log my race car. It is SD tuned by the man, Patrick Guerra. Do you guys just make a copy of the imperial/metric file, rename it and make whatever changes you need? I have half *** set up for my wideband and used it to data log but then when I am done I just lose it all because you can't save the original files. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Default

I used the Imperial file as a starting point, modified what I wanted/needed and did a "save as".
