Default tuning/timing/slit wrists

My car is still at the tuner. Got the overheating problem and maf fixed but car only made 240 horsepower. It is a LQ block ls2 forged pistons, ls3 cnc heads, ls3 intake, nick Williams throttle body, and blower cam. The tuner is not sure what is wrong but said to start with plugs and wires since I don't have gm parts. Bosch plugs msd wires. He also mentioned that he thought the timing may be off. I have a ls2 comp cams double roller timing chain. I thought I lined up the marks but I am unsure if I did anything else right. I read that I should have had 1 cylinder top dead center and i have no idea what I did. He is going to do a couple hours of diagnostic tuning and try to find the problem. Would you guys skip this and have him go straight for the timing. Sorry for the dumb questions but I don't have money to burn and already $600 in. Thanks
