Default DBW to DBC

2000 4896 PCM. Supports both.

Is it as simple as changing the options tab in the system menu from DBW to DBC? Set the option to 0?

Or do I need to find a DBC OS?

I did what I mentioned above, and I now get tps volts and throttle %. But it's acting flakey.

This is a new pieced together build in a 2000 Camaro.

There is a bunch of DTC that are used with DBW that are set to Do Not Report on DBC tunes. Yes you should be able to get it to work but its easier to start with a tune that's already DBC

I agree. I would just full flash the pcm to a 2002 camaro and then tune it. The 02 12212156 OS is better than the factory 00 OS.

Yes, the 12212156 OS supports 3-bar SD...it's probably the most flexible/powerful/tunable OS used in those computers. I use it all the time in conversions.

Thanks man.
I had everything working with my 5.3 tune, until I had a "doh" moment and realized I'm using a stick shift tune and the car has a 4L60.
So is the above mentioned OS auto or stick?

It's both...it was used in stick and auto f-bodies, 4.8/5.3/6.0 trucks, SUV's...drive by wire, drive by cable...you name it, GM used it for it.

You using HPTuners or EFILive?

HPTuners.
I have 2.25 beta as well, but haven't investigated segment swapping yet.

If you go to the HPTuners repository, then pick 2002 chevrolet automatic, there are a bunch of f-body and truck files that use the 12212156 OS with a 4L60-E that you can get started with.

I wouldnt even bother with a segment swap since the OS is both in manual and auto. Like Mike454SS said its the best OS to start with because it has every option out there for it down the road. 4l80, manual, 4l60, 4.8,5.3, 6.0 etc are available for segment swaps.

I'll do it. Engine is s 5.3 single turbo. So should be fun.
I'll just eat the credit cost, I told him this would be much simpler....
First need to do some basic trouble shooting just in case.
Thanks guys.

DBW to DBC is the best thing I ever did with my swap.

So it turns out that the TB he bought here in the forum had been "ported" and essentially ruined. He replaced it and the car runs and drives.
I haven't been back over to put the scanner on and check things out yet.
But at least it appears that you can just flip the switch in the vehicle options tab and make DBC work.
I'll report back after we get back to tuning the turbo etc.

Yeah, I've done it that way too.

When the PCM is setup correctly, there's no downside to DBW...it works fine.
