Changing OS to get 3 bar upgrade capability
Posted on HP tuners site but this place has way more traffic so..
I bought HP Tuners for my 99 Silverado, when i went to license it it would only give me the option to use 6 credits and license all 1999 Silverados, so i did that. Now i want to add 3 bar capability, but that option is greyed out on my OS. I found a stock 1999 silverado OS on the tune repository that allows me to upgrade to 3 bar capability.
The question is,
I can just use that base tune/OS from the repository and write that to my ecu, which would allow me to have 3 bar capability, right?
Thanks!

So today i used 9373372 OS that i got from the Tune Repository and flashed it to my truck. it runs fine, i updated the VIN number and relinked VATS. security light is on all the time its running now though. Not really sure how to turn it off, but im sure ill figure it out, or tape it up.
Applied the 3 bar stuff, and saved it. once i get my wideband installed ill try to mess around with that
*there is significant difference in this tune compared to my base tune, so double check that if your going to do this
