Another Plastic tank swap question
Hello,
Theres plenty of mixed feelings going around about the 99+ plastic swap into a 98 body. Some say to rewire some say plug and play. Anyway heres what Ive got.
98 Formula, 99+ PCM swap. Will be wiring in a 99+ instrument panel cluster soon, along with making a "SP200" for all the serial data connections. I have a complete 99+ plastic tank sending unit and evap system to swap over as well. Given that I have the 99 PCM and IPC should it be a huge problem for the fuel gage to work properly with the tuning? A friend has EFI Live, and knows about the fuel resistance segments setup. Where or how does the fuel wiring tie in between the 2 year differences? 98 has obvious wires that depict fuel gauge level at PCM and IPC. I can only assume without seeing wires that interact on the schematic that Fuel is serial data on 99+.how does the signal get transmitted???
