IAC Motor reset
While swapping the IAC and TPS over to the new throttle body the IAC plunger got pulled out to its max travel. It didn't seem to hurt the IAC as I can use VCM controls to step it out from 0-127 steps. Right now the car is hunting for idle unless I set the IAC manually to around 70 steps. If I do this car idles rock solid and returns to idle with no hanging or stalling, but as soon as I give the PCM back control it starts hunting again and hanging.
While messing with it I tried pulling the plunger back out all the way and then with the IAC unplugged I re-installed it in to the throttle body thinking It would be zero steps (plunger all the way closed). Turned car on and would start as it was getting no air. So I tried going back the other way and depressing the plunger all the way in and the car would just sit at 2000 rpms.
So my question is, is there a procedure for getting that plunger to the right spot? Or am I going to have to drop 100$ on an IAC motor.
