Ls1 no start condition
Let me begin by telling you guys that I have replaced pretty much every sensor on the car, the ecm, and the car still won't start all the time
It will start intermittently and then nothing. The kicker, however, is that if I unplug a spark plug wire from the coil and let the coil arc to the valve cover it will start right up. It will probably start right after that and then nothing.
Please help.
I kinda doubt that the disconnecting the spark plug wire is really what helps it start. Instead I think it is the delay between your first attempt and the next attempt after fiddling with the spark plug wire. Check if that 1-minute delay is the key.
Also, give us the exact parameters under which it is likely to start and not start.
Cold or hot engine. How long since the last start, etc.
You might also try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to "reset" parts of the PCM to see if that helps.
I had a similar problem for a while - the car would not start, but if I removed and jumpered the fuel pump relay, it would start. Turned it that it just needed that 1-minute delay. Then it wouldn't start after each re-tune because that was resetting the idle-learn parameters. It took a while to get the tune right, but that was with a new engine and wild cam.
