Default LT1 vs LT4 knock module

Looking to get a LT4 knock module in my 95 Z28 but I can't source one. That being said, I keep reading that the LT4 knock module is "less sensitive" and or simply looks for a different frequency range than the LT1 KM does...

Either way, if I can't find a LT4 KM, is it possible to make the LT1 KS/KM act like a LT4 KM?

I'm 90% sure I'm getting false knock due to tests I have done, but I'm also not going to turn the KS off either to make sure I'm still protected.

Car has been dyno tuned for full exhaust and CAI. At time of dyno tune the car did not knock. I have done numerous things to fix this seen here:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...ng-timing.html

Looking to see what my options are in terms of tuning since that seems like my last option to get the car back on the dyno.

Those are no longer available I'm told. it was a monkey-see-monkey-do deal at one time on the internet. Guys were plugging those into bone stock Impala SS cars and swearing they could feel the difference. Many butt-dynos needing calibration. They were being sold so fast they could not keep them in stock. Got to where you had to give the GM parts guy a '96 LT4 Vette vin to buy one, that was in 1997 iirc.

I don't know where you could find one now.

If your tuner has a clue, they are not needed anyway. It can all be done in the tuning. It was actually a parts mis-match that made the PCM less likely to pick up the vibration/noise from detonation anyway. Those knock modules were intended for different part number (and often the number of) knock sensors. And with the '94/'95 cars, even a different PCM. The LT4 was a 1996-only option in the Corvette. Similar, but not the same PCM. Because the looked the same, and would plug in, I had guys put those things in 1996/2000 Vortec truck PCMs. Made for no knock sensing & retard control at all. Like no knock sensors.

Thanks for the explanation. Yes they are very slim and if they are, they on ebay for $250...what the hell?

I dove more into this and what makes a LT4 KM a LT4 KM since I'm not one to just "do what the internet says" and since I can't find one I wanted to know other options.

If you can "make" a LT4 KM via tuning a LT1 KM then good. That is a viable option as I trust the tuner I use. This will be a last resort though. I'm certain it is false knock, just haven't found out why.

It is just part of the tuning. No knock module needed. Just tell your tuner. Just a few key strokes. An LT4 module may not get it anyway.

So good news that there is a solution, bad news I haven't figured out the cause of the false knock. It's driving me nuts. It has been dyno tuned almost a year and a half ago, has since gone through 2 autocross seasons and when I started to data log/dyno different CAI setups recently I noticed this knock retard upwards of 10*. I'm down 10hp/tq from 4000-4500 RPM.
