Accelerator Pedal Question I'm building a Gen Three swap and my pedal came from an 05 Tahoe. As part of the install I need to modify/customize the pedal for positioning relative to the brake.
My question is does the ECM use all of the Throw/Travel in the pedal or can I shorten it on the wide open throttle side. This will allow me to lower the pedal relative to the vehicle floor.

Yes, I have done in several swaps. I always use the 03-05 metallic pedal (plastic one sucks).
It has it's own start-stop travel mechanism, it must be kept the same, it can't be calibrated in the PCM tune so don't mess with it, it can go REP.
I cut and weld the arm to customize pedal height, angle and distance.
Be careful if you weld it, it's very easy to damage the sensor if you heat it too much.
