knock sensor sensitivity reduction (gen 3)
How do tuners determine what level of knock sensitivity to reduce to from stock? Specifically for HP tuners, there are a few tables related to this and my mail-order tune has the sensitivity reduced from stock however I'de like to know what guidelines you guys follow to determine what's safe.
Thanks

If it's a for-sure false knock, I put in a safe timing map (usually the 2002 C5 Zo6) and guess and check until the "knock" doesn't occur anymore. If it has to be reduced a ton, then there's something else going on. I had a lot of tip-in burst knock on my last car that I had to get rid of too. Turns out I had a primary tube hitting the frame.
