old box on 04 5.3
Standard Features
Base Unit will drive up to 8 high or low impedance injectors in bank-to-bank fuel injection mode. This mode fires at most, 2 injectors per side at any one time and will reduce fuel pressure fluctuations over batch fire mode resulting in better fuel distribution to all cylinders. Each injector is controlled by its own peak/hold driver.
Base Unit has 16 x 17 spark and fuel matrices for ultra-control of the engine spark and fuel events.
Base unit is fully up gradable. Systems can be later updated for sequential fuel injection, closed loop - wide band O2 sensor fuel control and individual cylinder fuel and spark trim.
Waterproof enclosure allows for under-hood mounting.
EMI Hardened Design. This system was designed to be immune to the eloctromagnetic interference common to hi-energy ignition systems.
True Speed-Density algorithm greatly reduces calibration time and improves idle characteristics with big injectors.
Compatible with all crank triggers and ignition systems.
2 stage wet or dry flow nitrous control
Hi-speed communication from the ECU to host PC
I googled it and it came up with FP Performance Electronics- SEFI8LO Engine Management System. I believe maybe they sold it at some point as when go to there home page, I can not find it on there. But this link still shows up as active for the product. http://force-efi.com/felpro.htm
It says it is "Compatible with all crank triggers and ignition systems"
According to a book called "How to Tune and Modify Your Ford 5.0 Liter Mustang" it looks like It was created by John Meaney and sold to fel pro performance division.
Any way, Being that it says its compatible with all crank triggers and ignition systems I don't see why it wouldn't work other than maybe you can not program a firing order into it. The Techs at FAST did not elaborate on why you needed the conversion?
