Plugs: Stock or Cooler ??
Quick question regarding spark plugs.
I recently did a cam/headers/hi flow/tune upgrade. Got decent numbers (485 RWHP, 446 Tq) and car feels great.
A couple weeks after the dyno tune (stock plugs), I had several people ask if I went with a cooler plug with the explanation that it might be happier. So I went out and bought some NGK Iridium Plugs TR6IX and installed them.
This is going to sound stupid but I kinda feel like its not as good as the stock ones. Not sure if I'm just getting used to the increased power from the upgrades or its not enjoying the new ones.
Is it possible that I went backwards by using these ??
I know, just put the stock ones back in !! Before I do that I was just wondering if anyone has had the same experience.
Thanks

So I've gone back and forth a couple times now between the stock and cooler plugs.
My "unscientific" results are that it definitely pulls harder in the 3-6000 rpm range with the stock plugs but has a slightly crisper throttle response below 3000 rpms and a better idle with the cooler TR6IX.
Does this make any sense or am I going a little bit crazier ??

Here is some good reading for anyone that thinks they understand what having the correct heat range plug is effecting.
