Default Crank trigger stock computer

Can I run a crank trigger with a stock computer ? I'm running an innovators west crank pulley and looking to get away from the factory crank sensor because I am having nothing but trouble with it.

Yes you could if you want to go backwards and put a distributor in the motor and tune off the high res ignition, and fun a 2001 / 2002 vortec tune.
I think it would be much easier to fix the problem

You don't need a distributor to run a crank trigger. No different than an external mounted reluctor. Fix the problem is the issue, how do you fix something that you don't know what's causing the issue. Went through 6 crank sensors from every manufacturers traced wiring, traced grounds. Checked reluctor wheel. Everything checks out but the motor wants to break up at 4000rpms or with other sensors it wants to die when you push the clutch in. Change crank sensor and the issue changes. Gm sensor did the best ran great for a while now is acting up.

Unless you're running a 24x external reluctor, you'll need a distributor, if you're running a factory pcm. Most external reluctors are 4X. Have you put an O-scope on it to see what happens to the pulse pattern, when the motor breaks up? Did you check the bearings and thrust surface to make sure the crank isn't moving? Did you check the gap between the reluctor and the end of the sensor? Are you sure that the coils aren't saturating? If an external reluctor was the best method, I'm sure GM would have done it. If you don't know what's wrong, why do you think an external reluctor will fix it?

most people don't have those type of tools, crank, reluctor, and motor are all brand new. When the clutch is engaged it does not move. Not sure how you check to see how far the sensor is going in if it bottom out on the hold down. A lot of racers run a crank trigger and it's a much easier setup as compared to pulling the bottom end with an issue. It's obviously a cranks position issues because every time you change a sensor it acts different of has a different symptom
