So I purchased a 99 SS. My current car is a 98. I am moving my drive train and power train to the 99 SS.
The 99 does not have a wire harness nor PCM. I know my 98 stuff will not work without modification and that's fine. I plan on selling my car as a roller with the harness and computer with it.
I want to know if the engine harness I get from a 99-2002 fbody has to be a 6 speed harness or does it matter at all?
Also i need to verify that the 0411 computer can be from a truck/auto/or whatever and it shouldnt matter as long as its an 0411 computer correct?
Yes it should be a M6 harness but an A4 could be modified to work but why make extra work. Yes any 411 pcm should work but if you're using HPT to tune it, you might run in to OS / VCID mismatch issues if the pcm is a differant year then the OS and you might need to use extra credits to convert it to an Fbody tune. Thats the way it was in the past but with software always evolving it might have changed.
I have a 2000 camaro harness with a 0411 pcm Everything was swapped in the tune. Everything works except the speedometer. I changed the vss sensor twice. Hptuners doesn't show speed. I swapped clusters 4 times.
I did run a jumper wires from the sensor to the pcm. I was about to tap into 20 and 21 on the RED connector but noticed the right colors and the right position is on the BLUE harness.
Should I tap the BLUE 20 and 21 which are purplet white and green/black?
Or stick with the diagram and tap the two on the RED connector? Wrong colors for 20 and 21.
