ECM HP Tuning over the mail?

ECM HP Tuning over the mail? Does it make sense to pick up an extra ECM and mail out to "X" tuner to program it?
Not having any luck locally.
long story short version
The car has been to a few different tuners about 5 times and it is still running like ****. Granted there have been a few bugs that showed up but it barely idles and it backfires REAL BAD.
At this point id like to load a basic tune to at least be able to drive the car to the next NEW tuner.
I am even considering purchasing HPtuners to start playing with it my self or to at least log the problems and post them up.
OR to buy a tune and load it my self instead of sitting around waiting for someone to do it for me.
What do you guys think?

If its backfiring, it may have a wiring or mechanical issue. I can't imagine the tune being that F'ed up, that its that bad. I mean, I had my share of experience with bad tuners, but my **** at least was driveable.
Unless you have a HP Tuner box, mailing it off won't really get you a good tune.If you have access to a HP box, then you can at least get some logs, and load a new tune that you get via email. If you can't find a good local tuner, buying a used HP Tuner to do this, might be a good option. Even if you hire someone to remote tune, once done, you can sell it off if you want, or keep it, and learn. JMO, I have been there.....and my new setup is being tuned by me.
