help im lost now. no start
IM AT A LOSS NOW.
2006 CHEVY 2500HD WITH 6.0.
REBUILT DUE TO LIFTER FAILURE AND SLUDGE, NEGLECT FROM PAST OWNERS.
LQ4 BORED 20 OVER,243 HEADS,FLAT TOP PISTONS,TSP 216/220 .600 CAM, HEADERS ETC... YES IT STILL NEEDS TO BE TUNED.
HERE IS WHERE MY PROBLEM BEGINS
INSTALLED MOTOR AND IT RAN OK DUE TO NEEDING TO BE TUNED. SEVERAL MISFIRES AND WOULD PRE DET A LITTLE DUE BAD FUEL UNTIL I RAN IT OUT.
REPLACED THE INTAKE GASKETS AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT START AFTER. ENDED UP BEING A BAD GROUND ON THE REAR PASS HEAD. SO I WIGGLED (PRESSED FOR TIME SO DID NOT REPLACE YET) IT AND TOOK HER FOR A TEST DRIVE. GOT HALF WAY DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. EVERYTHING WAS STILL ON AND WORKING JUST MOTOR SHUT OFF. TRIED STARTING IT AND WILL ONLY TURN OVER NOW.
I HAVE RE WIRED BOTH GROUNDS THAT GO TO THE HEADS AND RELOCATED THEM TO THE FRONT OF THE PASS HEAD FOR EASY ACCESS. CLEANED THE CRAP OUT OF THE MAIN GROUND AND THE GROUND FROM MOTOR TO FIRE WALL.
STILL NO START. I HAVE FUEL PRESSURE BUT NO SPARK.
NEW CRANK AND CAM SENSORS, BATTERY IS GOOD AS WELL. EVERYTHING WORKS BUT WILL NOT START.
COULD IT BE A SHORTED OUT ECM FROM THE BAD GROUND?

Check your coil pack main connectors for bent pins. I've seen that happen before.
Since it was running before you did your intake gaskets, it's very likely to be a connector that was pulled and then reconnected. So I would start there.

Sounds like CKP signal wire got destroyed/melted... does scantool show RPM during cranking...?
