supercharger tuning help When installing a supercharger on a vehicle that was not originally supercharged, does anything special need to be as far as tuning goes? I'm finding out very quickly that road tuning and using a standard SD tuning guide is not helping me at all.
It's pretty standard... in the non-boost area of the VE table, you tune as you would any regular engine. But as soon as boost comes on, you have to make sure PE is engaging. And you're A/F should be ~ .78-.80 lambda (11.5-11.7:1 A/F using 93 non-gasohol). I'd start off with pretty low timing in the boosted regions of the VE table (anything over 105kPa) and dial in from there. 10 degrees would be a good starting point and you may be able to get to 12-13 degrees assuming no meth and an air-to-air intercooler and decent boost.
You'll also need to tune your IAT retard tables to pull timing as IATs rise to keep the motor together.
Disconnect the charge pipe, tune the VE table, take the max reading say around 100kPa row, copy and paste to 210kPa row and then multiple by 1.5 (assuming around 8lbs), select from 100 to 210, and interpolate between verticle bounds.... That should get you decently close to start hitting PE mode. Just watch your wideband closely.
