Fell into an old trap
So I was tuning my dad's Silverado with an A/A IC'ed Whipple blown 4.8. It has a 2bar map, but still also uses the MAF because it's a 4.8 on low boost. I had checked all mechanicals, and fixed every issue. I then tuned it as best I could in the summer, but told him it would need tweaking for colder weather this winter, in order to fully tune the SD side of things. When cold weather hit, he had idle issues. It took forever to almost get them right. Skip forward a few weeks, and he is having these same issues again. It turns out the FPR was going bad, and I had been trying to tune a mechanical problem. I had just been overlooking the possibility of parts problems since I already expected to have tune issues. Just a heads up- no matter how good you tune, sometimes parts go bad.
