Default Old Versions of VCM Suite

Long time since I've posted...

I'm looking for an older version of VCM Suite to use with my 1.0 interface. I had to replace the old laptop my software was on and now don't have access to it.

I've contacted Hp Tuners with my serial information and received this;

Thank you for contacting support,

Unfortunately we no longer support these interfaces and these accounts have all been closed and they've met their end of life through us. With that said if you'd like more information about potentially sending in your serial interface for an upgrade to the newer MPVI unit let me know and I'll have our sales team get in contact with you shortly with instructions.

Thanks
I responded that I did not necessarily need support, just the older files to use load on my newer laptop. I had last downloaded them from their website in 2011.

Does anyone know where to find an old version, or at least a version that supports the old interface.

Won't work Joe. The software for the serial interfaces were unique to the interface you had. The licenses you purchased were stored in the software for each unique serial interface. It was a bull **** move that HP Tuners deleted the customer pages for serial interface users. Before they did that you could always go to your customer page and redownload the software for YOUR serial interface. Their excuse was they didn't have the storage capacity to keep them active. Even if I gave you the software for my serial interface it wouldn't work with your cable. I'm surprised they even said they would upgrade your serial interface with a USB MPVI as I've been told that the deadline to even do that has long passed.

Thanks for the reply Glen. I actually almost called you before I posted this, but did not want to bother you. Everything you wrote is what I've read various places since I posted this. I've looked for my original install CD, but had no luck...

Downloading from their site is how I got the old software last time, granted it was at least 5-6 years ago. All worked fine then. I agree it sucks to not be able to get it anymore.

I'm somewhat concerned about ordering a new MPVI setup that has been out for 10 years now, and the same thing happening when they decide to release a newer interface and want everyone to upgrade again.

How does the licensing and credits work on the interface upgrade?

Not the derail the thread, but you bring up a valid point about a new interface.

Before their deadline you could send in your serial interface and for an additional $279 over the cost of the MPVI they would transfer your licenses that you had on the serial interface over to the new MPVI. On the serial interface there were no such thing as credits. Only model year licenses you purchased. No such thing as single VIN licenses. If you purchased another MY license they would post an updated software version for you to download with the new license embedded in the software. At the time they said they would continue to provides software version updates for the serial interfaces, which is another thing they never did. Serial customers were never able to use any version newer than V2.22.

I never transferred my serial licenses. I just bought a new MPVI when they first came out and started licensing newer vehicles I did on it. I still use my serial interface on 98-02 F-bodies and 98-04 Vettes which is what I have licenses for on it. I'm somewhat limited on what I can do with it but those vehicles are such a small % of the vehicles I tune these days it's no big deal any more. I actually use Tuner Cat OBD2 more than my HPT MPVI.
