Default 2004 Z06 cam-p0343 code

2001 WS6 A4// pulled engine to replace some defective lifters. Well found out that GM had put the LS6 Blocks in some of the F-Body from 2001-2 based on the engine number being (12561168) along with LS6 intake, injectors & heads and decided to upgrade cam & stuff. 2004 Z06 cam,Lifters, valve springs from GM-Performance. Push rods,rockers,243 heads redone 3 angle valve job. Bottom end left stock just did basic rebuild. Replaced timing set with Edelbrock Chain & Gears #7800 series. This set has 3 adjustments standard,4 degrees advance,4 retard. I installed it Standard unless I had to many beers at that time. Of course I alignmend it with dot to dot with the key way at looks like 2:00. No tune done yet! Now with that said the problem I am having is. Code P0343 and P0342 Car starts fine every time,RPM red great until it reaches 1500-2000 then it flat lines. After a few starts the code comes up. When the car idles back down the gauge RPM starts back working again until it hits 1500-2000 then flatline.Engine runs pretty well but can feel like under extra load. Drives great down the road unless you gas it then it sparks knocks. Checked the wiring has ground, has 11.44 volts & the signal wire to C1-pin 73 I believe showed .4 ohms. Is this a sensor? Iam a Dodge Auto Tech by trade. But GM Rules😎 To me this does not sound like a sensor but at this point I am lost. Also I did lock-tit the cam bolts, and new cam bearings.

I am fighting almost the same issue. I have a stock 2002 z28 and was throwing p0343, I swapped out cam sensor with new one and now get code p0342. I checked the wiring and positive is getting same power battery is and ground is good, checked signal wire and that is good also. I pulled the loom back to make sure none of the wires were rubbing and they looked good. In your case i would check the cam gear bolts, i have seen alot of post of people doing cam swaps and having the code from the bolts backing out.

If you find out please let me know.
