Just got hp tuners and I also just downloaded it. How do I unlock my pcm I'll be using for my lsx swap? I know people are able to mail their pcms in to have vats deleted and other mods so I'm guessing I don't have to wait until the car is all.wired up?

Unless you have a bench harness you will have to wait until it is wired up and connected in the car.

I take it that's how all the guys who offer vats unlocks and other pcm mods are doing it?

A bench harness is super easy to make, and yes that's how we are doing it.

You just need a 12v charger that plugs into a wall outlet, an OBD-II port, and a spare Blue PCM connector. You can buy all of that stuff new from ebay for $40, or go to the junkyard for the ECU connector/OBD port and use whatever charger you have laying around. If you have a spare car battery, that works too.

It's pretty easy for sure, the plans are all over the 'net. I picked up the blue connector and OBD2 port at the junkyard for ten bucks. There were no V8's in the yard but I kept looking and found a late model Monte Carlo six cylinder that had the correct 80 pin Delphi connector.

After I turned off VAT's and disabled the Evap, O2's and corrected the gearing and tire diameter I decided to mount all that junk in a box.

BTW, I have only had HPT a few weeks but there is plenty of help available.
