Security light is always on!! My security light is constantly on for the past 2 days. The car runs fine but has the light on. The light has shut off cruise control and so far I haven't found what else yet. I have checked all the fuses, unplugged the battery for 10 hours, and have done the security relearn with my spare key and it's still on. It turned on one day when my key got stuck in the ignition chamber and it didn't want to turn or come out. I had to jiggle it out and it finally came out and I put the key back in and it started without a problem. The main key and spare key both have the light on while I drive. I went to the dealership in Frederick and they wanted me to pay $120 for a diagnosis per hour. I know they will waste my time and force me to spend more. I have also tried to use an eraser on the chip to maybe see if it was dirty and needed cleaning and that didn't help either. If anyone can give me any tips, that'll be great!
Have you thought about doing the resistor bypass? Key stuck in column might have messed up the contacts in the steering column. You can either bypass the key Check with a resistor or tear into the column.
