LS1 Ignition timing drop

LS1 Ignition timing drop I am having my car tuned and having issues with normal driving ignition timing. I am being told that when backing off the throttle the timing drops to 0 when however there a no tables in the ecu commanding the timing to drop that low when really the tables show it should be in the low 20's. Causing the car to feel sluggish when getting back on the throttle.
The car is a 99 trans am with factory ls1 and a4 transmission with a custom camshaft, bigger injectors, racetonix fuel pump+harness, fast intake manifold+TB, 3k torque converter, hp tuners software.
I do not know anything about tuning or timing adjustments but i'm hoping someone has had a similar problem or a solution that i can pass along.

Only new to tuning myself but could have something to do with DFCO? (Deceleration Fuel Cut Off). I would think that with no need for fuel while decelerating there would also be no need for spark advance? Have a read up on DFCO plenty of info around about it. Maybe log your deceleration as you come to a complete stop your timing should return to your idle settings? Just a thought not experienced at all though
