I have started a conversion thread and Rick (B52bombardier1) has guided me to your program. I am very eager to start using it, but I am a IPhone/Apple user. I do have a Kindle with Android 7.1 on it. I don’t want to buy a device if I don’t have to. If, or when will I be able to use the Kindle to us LS droid with it? No pressure, just asking.
Thanks!
Tony
If its a Fire tablet that came with Android 7.1 and isn't something you rooted and then installed Android on then it should have full support with the next patch I hope to have out in a week or so. I've personally tested the coming update on a 2018 version of the Fire 8HD and I've gotten feedback from someone who's run the app on a 2019 version of the HD10 and also didn't have any issues. It may work on older versions of the Fire Tablet provided they are running a variant of Android 6.0 or newer.....although I think the Fire tablets may have actually skipped 6.0 completely.
I've been lurking in this thread for a while now, and I thought I'd chime in to thank you Pete for your work on this wonderful little app. It has me wanting to pick back up on an EFI swap I started on my CJ7 years ago but lost interest in.
I've accumulated four 411 PCM's and made a bench harness to play around with.
I use V0.2.1 on my phone Samsung S10+, no problems.
After reading about you using the Kindle Fire I dug out an old Nexus 7 tablet I had rooted and flashed with the CyanogenMod rom, I couldn't get LS Droid to install, Problem Parseing the Package, I believe was the error.
So I decided to upgrade to a newer OS on the Nexus.
Anyway, after flashing the Nexus with the Lineage OS, LS Droid installed and works perfectly.
Keep up the good work, this will be a valuable tool for many people.
I am getting an error that I need Android 6.0 or higher . I have a Samsung Note 9 with Android 10 and have had LS Droid on it for a while and just reticently started getting this error. it used to work fine. Do you have any ideas what I need to do ?
Thanks GD
It's been a long road with plenty of bumps along the way but I'm pleased to announce that 2 versions of the OBDX Pro VT's are now IN STOCK ! ! !
USB+ Bluetooth in the clear case
& USB ONLY in the Black case
Both of these are IN STOCK in the US and ready to ship! ! !
Ls Droid currently has support for reading enabled with the X Pro VT. Write for the LS Pcm's with the Xpro VT will be enabled with in the next week or two at most.
Some sample times....... P01 Read time W/ Xpro VT = 3:04 - 3:55 depending on device
P01 Calibration write time is less then 60 seconds, with newer phones it's closer to 30 seconds.
P01 OS+Cal = 3:30 - 4:10 depending on device P59 OS+Cal = 3:45 - 4:15 depending on device (assuming you have RLE enabled for the P59)
Ls Droid Beta v0.2.2 is now avaible for download on Ls-Droid.com
If you encounter an issue while using this version of Ls Droid please check for any logs in error folders (device storage/Ls Droid/App,Flash or Permission) that would pertain to the issue you are encountering.
Bin file Checksums are now verified before a file can be flashed. If the checksums in the file do not match what the app calculats you will be presented with a list of questions to determine what may have caused a checksum mismatch. These change should resolve about 99% of issues people run into when flashing incorrectly altered files from Tuner Pro. For example you used the wrong XDF on the bin file and attempted to flash a damaged file or you didn't have the correct checksum plugin for Tuner Pro when you saved the file.
The app will no longer block you from attempting to use Ls Droid with any version of Android, however it is extremely unlikely it will work on devices running anything less then Android 6.0.1 and I have no intentions of adding support beyond what has already been done for older versions of Android. If it works for you great, if not get a newer device. This change was made to add improved support for Kindle Fire HD Tablets and was not intended to let you use old Android tablets.
This update adds support for reading all types of pcm's with the Xpro VT. Write support for with the Xpro has not been enabled at this time but will be very soon.
If you have any issues please post them here rather then sending me a PM. Discussing bugs in private defeats the purpose of having a group.
If you run into issues with V0.2.2 don't worry.....you can still have V0.2.1 installed as well with out any trouble. I have also updated the Ls Droid website to include a direct download for V0.2.1 so you won't have any trouble finding it.
Sorry to bother you Pete, but I'm reading the installation instructions for the USB Xpro VT I got today (Thank You!!!) and the instructions tell me to go to https://obdxpro.com/downloads to download the driver. This link brings me to the downloads page, and there is a "Drivers" and "Software", but neither of them are links.
Seems my Windblows 10 has the correct driver by default after all. Read the entire contents of a 1M P59 in 4:28. This USB Xpro VT is amazing!!!
EDIT: As soon as you have more of the USB with BlueTooth back in stock, I'm going to grab one so I can give LS-Droid a try! I'm on the hunt for an Android tablet...

The default window driver works but its not optimized ideally. The driver download is on the website and the link is working now. Just make sure you don't have the Xpro plugged in when you install the driver......and it wouldn't be a bad idea to uninstall the windows driver before installing the xpro driver just to make sure they don't have a conflict.
I'm glad your enjoying the tool, I've spent an incredible amount of time with Envyous Customs(Tazzi on Pcmhacking) developing this and we have put the design though hell and back making sure it was going to be a reliable tool.

Kindle Fire HD8 has been working well for me and they are amazingly cheap on amazon if you get the one that shows you adds on the lock screen. It is about 10 seconds faster then a fairly new Sony phone and 15 seconds faster then a Samsung S7 phone. For a little more money the 10 inch version would probably be even faster....just make sure its the 2019 and newer version. The older 10 inch fire tablet runs Android 4.4 and won't play nice with Ls Droid.
So I received my OBDx yesterday and tried out LSDroid 2.2 with it this morning.. It worked for reading my 2003 Blazer's P59 PCM (OS 12579405), but unfortunately there's not much I can do with that file because there's no XDF for it that I can find. Read in 7m 12s tho, not bad! Had to pull all my BCM fuses because the BCM refused to shut up and I couldn't get a read with it functional lol. Haven't tried much else yet, but I like what I've seen so far! Next time I get to the house I'll be able to try it out on my 97 Sierra's 0411. I normally use HPTuners for everything but this will be a nice backup in case I go looking into PCMs I've not licensed.
There may not be an XDF for your OS but there is an XDF for OS 12587603. This OS out of a 2004 Chevy SSR truck is considered by many to be a universal donor and supports just about anything you would ever want to do. I would grab a used P59 PCM out of the junk yard, edit 12587603 to your needs and copy it into this used PCM.

I found mentions of this, and I actually have a spare (same service number, same vehicle) PCM I could use for that purpose. My only real hang-up on doing that is having to relicense to use HPTuners on the same truck again. Granted yes I guess I could just use TunerPro from here on with it...
@PeteS160 First of all, thank you so much for all your hard work brotha seriously man.
I have been using your segment swap utility on LSdroid but I cannot get the 04 vette manual trans segment working for my bin file. I am using the universal 12587603 OS.
I didnt want to make this post before doing my due diligence and searching through this forum as well as gearhead-efi. I couldnt find any .BIN files for 12587603 that had a vette manual trans segment for the 5.3 LS already.
My problem is that after doing that segment swap my throttle body doesnt work right anymore, 50% pedal press is recognized as 100% throttle w/ car off. Car on, its unusable as after 50% pedal press the throttle returns back to 0%.
It almost as if doing the trans segment swap changes what type of throttle body and TAC module is being used since corvette ones are different that the trucks.
I have tried so many variations such as just trans cal, or trans cal + diag, other engine cal+diag, fuel system, system and many other versions of the 12587603 OS and no avail. I have more than 10 hours invested into getting this to work and I am not giving up.
If anybody has a working .BIN file please share, otherwise if anybody can provide guidance I would appreciate it.
P59 PCM 1MB
Engine: LM4 from 2004 GMC Envoy 5.3
Trans: F body T56
TAC: Truck TAC module and pedal *(not sure if its relevant but the TAC module has an A, i know there are different versions of the truck modules)
UPDATE: Issue still persists
I flashed the stock calibration back on (OS 12587603) 04 Envoy 5.3 LM4 (I tried 3 different pedals Envoy Adjustable, Envoy Non-Adjustable, Truck Pedal), TAC module and pedal works fine
I tried a Engine CAL (only) segment swap --> 2005 2500HD LQ4 6.0 (OS 12587603)
The pedal and tac module stopped working properly, immediate CEL Code U0107, I tried all 3 pedals, Pedal pressed 50% butterfly on throttle body 100% open, pedal pressed past 50% engine chokes, butterfly back to 0%
Also tried doing a Calibration data flash (no segment swaping) of 2005 2500HD LQ4 6.0 (OS 12587603) and 2004 Chevy LM7 truck (OS 12587603), neither worked same issue.
This segment swap did the same thing as the corvette trans segment swap. Does anybody know what could be causing this? Please advice.
@PeteS160 I just noticed you wrote that you did not want questions about segment swapping, do you want me to move my question somewhere else? I feel this might help someone.

The same is true going the other direction. If you use the Truck pedal/TAC with a trail blazer OS(regardless of the OS number) your gas pedal won't work correctly.
You should try joining the Ls Droid Facebook group, you could have probably saved yourself about 9 hours and a lot of frustration.
Brendan has also posted a bunch of custom one off swap files over the last couple of weeks in the Facebook group.
Looking for some help, I have never owned an Android device until now, for using this app. I was late to the game on getting the OBDX Pro VTs so I ended up buying a USB only one. I honestly don’t mind the cables at all though. I have the latest version on my Kindle Fire.
When I connect to it, and power up my bench harness. I select read pcm and when it opens up the screen it flashes “reading PCM” at the bottom of the screen. That goes away after a few seconds. I let it sit for a long time and nothing else changed. What am I missing or doing wrong?

Ls Droid 2.2B is avaible for download from Ls-Droid.com or you can update from with in the app if your using version 2.1 or newer.
OBDX Pro has more of the BT Xpro VT's back in stock as well. Ls Droid now supports reading and writing with the Xpro VT using 4x mode. Calibration flashing takes about 45 seconds and a full OS write on a P01 is about 3 1/2 mins. The P59 is about 4 mins. So its significantly faster then the OBDlink devices.
