Switch to a throttle cable? Need help

i have a 2006 silverado with a 5.3 that has electric throttle. I wanted to know if I could change the fly by wire to a cable set up. If I put a different stock pedal with throttle cable what do i have to do to make everything correct again . Is this possible? I do have a hp tuner if that helps. Or do I need different position sensors . I would like cruise control to work as well

I don't think it would be easy at all. Drive by cable ECM's run a different operating system and it would probably require a lot of rewiring and a different ECM.

With a Gen IV ECM it's impossible. It has to know the throttle position via the wire connection

2006 is gen 3 pcm. You can convert a 2006 to drive by cable but it requires adding wires for tps and iac and also changing the pcm. Not worth it at all IMO. We have tuned a couple that have been converted.

^^^just as stated. U gotta make sure u have the drivers for tps and iac in the pcm. Thin flash it with a van OS. I just done one of these conversions last week.

not to derail but what if the same drivetrain going into a cable driven host.
wiring harness,PCM and TB can be changed before install?

It can be done, yes. If I have the petal that goes with DBW, that's the route I go. I could see in the instance that it is missing, switching so you don't have to source a petal.
