ECU options for LT1-> LS Swap

ECU options for LT1-> LS Swap
I am swapping a Gen4 5.3 (LC9) into my 1996 z28. Plan is for it to be a Turbo car. I am somewhat confused/torn between some different ECU/wiring options. I may have missed some, but the ones I currently see are:
1) Modify my existing Wiring Harness to work with the LS and LS ECU.
Pro's: Cheaper, can pick and choose what I want on Harness.
Con's: Time consuming, frustrating, could nickel and dime me.
2) Buy an LS1 wiring harness/ecu.
pros: relatively cheap, ready to go. I already have HP tuners. Probably the easiest option?
cons: need to adapt 58X to 24X, somewhat hard to find an unmolested ls1 harness.
3)MS3 goldbox
pros: lots of capability
cons: seems like a long process, maybe difficult? more expensive
4) Holley HP EFI
pros: seems very complete, user intuitive
cons: cost
Can I use a later ECU to avoid the 58x->24x lingenfelter box? I would like to retain the use of eh factory gauges, hvac controls, etc.
Any other suggestions or input?
