Default Tuning with a turbo - Log included

Fixed a lot of items that were causing the car to run rough and wanted to see how everything looks like with the items resolved. Previously the car was having issues starting after driving a bit and also had a massive exhaust leak at the driver side turbo manifold.

After fixing the exhaust link due to cracked weld and installing the new Racetronix 255 pump and hot wire kit all seems to be running well.

I grabbed a few logs while driving to work today. I did click the button to reset the LTFT before starting the log. Wideband is showing around 14.9/15 at idle. Did not go into WOT/Boost at all on the drive to work.

Last bin was given to me by Frost when he was assisting 8+ years ago. He had made a few changes for the FLT trans with 3200 stall.

Your WOT AFR could be leaned out a bit, it looks like your EQ is set to 1.329. Some power to be had by upping it to 11.2-11.4 depending on boost level. You run more timing than I do, but if its not knocking thats good.

I recommend going to the 2 bar OS and adding a 2 bar map sensor.

Ain't nothing wrong with a turbo and a MAF.....can make big HP if you know what you're doing.

A correctly dialed in MAF will keep AFR's more precise than SD setups, in my opinion.

That is only true to the extent that you properly tuned under driving conditions. An SD tune can be more accurate than a MAF tune, but only if tuned under the conditions you drive in. This is the difference between a short drive tuning a MAF vs thousands of hours of SD tuning, so your idea is usually correct. That being said, even a good Alpha N tune will usually get the job done, so this is a matter of splitting hairs.

Looking to only boost up to 8psi. Is there a real benefit to going 2 bar/SD? Or can the 1 bar with MAF handle this setup Thoughts?

I personally do all turbo cars in SD. I struggle to dial in the very rapid fueling transition required during spool up and coming on boost and the associated drastic dynamic air mass changes with a MAF. I find measuring air mass via flow in an intercooler pipe to be a struggle to dial in compared to a RPM vs MAP VE table.

personally I find SD with a turbo car far easier to the point I wont do one with a MAF, or more so wont do one with a MAF and actually use the MAF.

Stock MAF without any trickery is good to between 550-600whp depending on the setup and drivetrain. So yes 8 Psi will work with a MAF.
