e40 ecm- using rear cam sensor Doing a bit of a hybrid motor here and am already finding some mistakes ive made as i begin the wiring process. Im currently planning to use a full ls2 e40 ecu, DBWTB, pedal, etc on a L33. which should work both being 24x cranks, however the e40 ecm uses a front crank sensor vs the rear that my l33 uses. the question is doing the different location cam sensors produce the same signal and therefore could be interchanged or am i going to be swapping front covers and timing gear to make this work correctly.

A bit of "experience" on the E40..We have that system on a 2005 GTO... Lots of problems.
The customer has now decided to rewire, and use the 411.
The E40 was a limited yr/application part, and not popular w/ a swap.
If you've not gone too far in, just use a 411 ecm, and save yourself a bunch of headaches w/ that E40 tune, security, etc.

Did you ever try this? I'm about to attempt this, Placing a Stock Gen 3 5.3(rear 1x cmp) into a E40 06 Trailblazer (24x crank, 1x Cmp front cover). Obviously on paper it all matches up if I extend the harness and match my CKP signal, power, ground correctly. Most the web talks of swapping from rear 1x to front 1x for cam swaps so it would be safe to assume it can work in the opposite direction. I was just hoping for some reason that the E40 doesn't have a fit given the signal in principle is the same but in reality may be slightly different. I guess Ill just do it and find out,
