I had a nitrous solenoid stick open tonight. The backfire blew the maf off the engine. And the screen out of it. Motor is stock and I have hptuners. Honestly the car seams to run better without the maf. What do I need to do to tune it out. 99 z28

 

Convert to a Speed Density Operating system would be your best bet.

 

Can I convert to 3 bar sd and just run the 1 bar sensor na for now?

 

Just unplug maf. Voila! Speed density!

You can run the 1-bar SD. Save a copy of stock tune. When you are ready to go three bar, reuse the stock tune to go 3-bar

 

Set maf fail frequency to 0 and change the maf diagnostic code reporting to no MIL.

 

SD seems to feel more responsive, but if it's tuned correctly, it runs exactly the same #'s.
