2000 Trans am is bogging

2000 Trans am is bogging Recently bought a car. Knew it was bogging prior to purchase, but The guy told me to replace the O2 sensors and the cats and it shouldn’t bog anymore. Before doing these things does this sound right? The car starts up and idles fine, but once I give it any type of gas even the slightest it bogs down. It does have a misfire and you can smell fuel. I did pull a spark plug and it’s black. Thinking of doing spark plugs, fuel filter, empty tank, catalytic converters and O2 sensors. Does this sound like the right direction?

Faulty O2 sensor(s) can cause this condition, also dirty MAF and Bad Fuel. When the car is cold started does it idle and drive fine? The car would be in open loop on cold start and not using the O2 sensors at that time. If it is bogging/misfiring at cold start I would look at MAF and spark perhaps plug wire or coil pack not connected correctly? If it smells rich then you know fuel is getting there. Will it make it to an auto store? Might be able to pull any codes and diagnose. A blinking check engine light is a signal for a random misfire.

Is the check engine light on? If so scan at an auto parts store for free and look the codes up. You also don't want to take the MAF and O2 sensors off, just clean the MAF and replace the front O2 sensors. Are there any modifications done to this vehicle?
