Stand alone ECM flash help needed - E38 I'm in the process of building a 51 Chevy Truck with a 4.8 LS from a 2008 Silverado (was told this was the vehicle when I bought it). I have the E38 ECM but has a broken connector housing on one of the two connectors.
Therefore looking for advice on how to buy a new ECM replacement - Is it simply buy a part number matching ECM from ebay? And importantly, looking for someone who can flash the ecm for my engine and for the standalone application. (or do both - replace and flash)
Any help out there? Based in Wisconsin.

There are ECM specialists on ebay who will help you select the right ecm and flash it to your part number and VIN number. Often there is no extra charge for minor "tune" changes such as deleting the rear cats.

I was looking for a service # 12200411 but was told there is 3 other service numbers that are compatible is this true?
Isn't 99-02 all the same ?
The OP has a E38 ecm, your looking for a 99-02 P01 pcm, completely different. There are only 2 service numbers I know off the top of head for 99-02 drive by cable....they end in 411 or 896. I can flash either one to any 99-02 drive by cable.

I have a HP tuner ...can I flash any 99-02 PCM with my tune? will it work?
