E67 VSS output to AIM Dash
I have run out of useful input and hoping someone here can help....
I have a LS376/525 crate engine swapped into a Datsun, and am using the factory E67 ECM with a Tremec T56 Magnum.
My problem is pretty simple (I think) compared to what many are battling here, but I cannot seem to figure it out. How do I get the VSS output from the ECU (C1/Blue connector Pin 39) to be used as a speed input by an AIM MXG dash? Wired directly to one of the dash's speed inputs, the dash registers no data...nothing. AIM support told me I was on my own. GMPP support could only tell me that the ECM receives an analog signal from the VSS on the Tremec, and converts it to a digital frequency signal, which I have no idea how to get the AIM dash to read, or if it can read it at all. If I can get any sort of speed input to the AIM dash, I'm certain I can do the math to correct for my final drive, tires, etc. But I cannot seem to get to that first step. I have the CAN from the ECM talking to the dash, but the CAN template from AIM does not include any sort of VSS input.
Would I possibly be better off by-passing the ECM entirely and trying to input the analog signal from the VSS directly into the AIM dash?
Just hoping someone here has some insight that might help,
Thanks much in advance.
