MDI 2 clones I know this question has been asked before in the past, but I am wondering if things have changed. I understand that the MDI 2 clones can be, depending on Chinese manufacturer, nothing but a first-gen MDI in a MDI 2 knockoff case. I purchased one a while back, and while it worked fine on my GMLAN-equipped vehicles....it would NOT work on my older, J1850/Class 2 vehicles. Apparently THAT specific one was missing the circuitry to communicate on DLC Pin 2. I ended up having to return it for a first-gen MDI clone, which worked properly with ALL my vehicles. There have been people who have reported that *NEWER* MDI 2 clones do indeed report in MDI Manager as actual MDI 2's (my first clone did not), and work fine on both Class 2 and GMLAN vehicles. To the best of my knowledge no one has attempted to use one on a Global B vehicle, which you HAVE to use an MDI 2 with. I'm thinking of purchasing another one.....but I cannot get a definitive response from any of the Chinese vendor websites. So my question is.....has anyone bought one lately, what is their experience with them, and where did they purchase them from?
