Default New engine, old tune... safe to run?

So blew my motor up during a track day at Circuit of the Americas last year. Bought a replacement with a fairly similar setup and wondering if I'll be able to run the new motor with my current tune till I can get it properly dialed in.

Here's the basic comparison between the two motors:

Old motor
5.7 SBE LS6 block
243 heads milled .030 w/ steel valves and tool steel retainers
226/236 .600/.600 110 cam
ls7 clutch and fly wheel
Standard volume/pressure oil pump

New motor
5.7 SBE LS1 block
243 heads w/ ls6 valves, titanium retainers (no milling)
230/236 .600/.600 112 cam
Monster stage 2 clutch w/ aluminum fly wheel
High pressure pump

Everything else is basically identical. Again, I'm not planning on driving hard or anything, just trying to see if it's safe to start and drive for a bit to get it tuned or do I need to send off for a mail order tune. Thoughts?

And yes... I'm adding an accusump this time.

So the only real change is 2 deg additional lobe sep on the cam?

If so, it should be fine. The tune may need some touching up.

yeah...I didn't figure intake duration was that big a deal, but the drop in compression had me wondering too...i would think lower compression wouldn't be an issue... right? Maybe? Lol

Wont really have much effect. I doubt you will notice. I assume a C5?
Your tuner may have to tweak a few things. Maybe add a smidge of timing at WOT.

It's actually a 4th gen SS...C5 would have been a smarter base for the road courses...no doubt... but I had no idea I'd get the bug when I bought the car and now it's got too many bucket list tracks under its belt to change platforms. COTA is the most recent, but I've also been on Laguna Seca, Infineon, and my very first track day was actually at Nurburgring when I was stationed in Germany.

I mean... how do I change platforms now? Lol

I wish I could do it again, both the car and my driving are so much better today... but it was an absolute blast. With so little track experience, it felt like the automotive equivalent of skydiving. Lol
