A.I.R. System removal

A.I.R. System removal I have a 2001 Trans Am which I believe is the first year with the a.i.r. system. I removed the intake and valve covers for some work and I have an easy shot of removing the solenoid back there and the tubing. I'm really tempting of ripping out the A.I.R. system since I no longer have to go through emission testing. I have a diablo sport i3 and a hypertech. Do either one of these allow me to disable an ses code? Also, is there any downside? Will this create a knock issue or some sort of performance problem?
