Hi. So I just changed my rear axle with a diffrent gear ratio. So I bought a hand held programmer. I was going to calibrate the speedometer and adjust the shift points based on the new gear change. So My hand held just told me that my computer isn't stock. So I can't make any adjustments because the computer has already been modified. I didn't know before buying Hand held programmer that my car's computer must be at stock settings.who ever owned the car before me must have had a hand held or took it to a shop to have it program. So my question is does anyone know how to reset the computer to stock or bypass the "program" that has been done already so that I dont have a 400 dollar paper weight (handheld programmer) .So I can use my superchip hand held programmer!! I would like to make adjustments my self. Anyone ever ran into this issue if so what did ya do?

one of the aftermarket "mail order" tuning services may be able to load a stock tune...the dealership can

You can do it yourself with HP Tuners. It's real easy. It would cost you the same as that hand held tuner that you can't use. Hopefully, you can return it for a refund.

If you putting the tune back to stock, you better be sure the engine is as well. If they've changed the cam, ported the heads, swapped injectors, etc. it will not run well (sometimes not at all) on a stock tune. And a hand-held programmer is very limited in adjustment.

I'd return the programmer and get the most basic version of HPTuners like others said. It will give you even more options in the future if you decide to learn tuning, or make other changes.
