Break-in / start up Qs Let's get this out here first:
I humbly post this in the spirit of education and DIY folks.
About me:
I've built cars in my backyard shop most of my life, from 1982 to 2016, ranging from boosted e85 Subaru EJs to big inch BBCs, so I'm not a stranger to tuning and building. This is my last project intended for my wife and I; I'd like to finish it and enjoy it.
I'm familiar with EFI in boosted applications, just not HP Tuners, EFI Live, etc.
I've never tuned a high performance EFI engine from scratch.
I'm an avid reader and lifelong student of all things go-fast.
All that being said, honestly- the idea of creating a tune file from scratch that will alow my $$$$$ build to fire and properly warm to break-in is not something I'm 100% confident in. I want to get this right.
Let's say I purchase HP Tuners MPVI2+ and two credits. Given the below questions- would I even need it?
Are there folks out there that can create a solid start and idle / run file given my engine parameters? At that point, tune it N/A and slowly add boost, then tune for driveability?
