Default 98 ecm issues

I have a 98 Z28. I just replaced my ecm but found out the ecm came from a 98 w an automatic trans. My old ecm was shutting off power to my fuel system. Now w the replacement ecm fuel pump primes and car will start. But now im getting 8 different codes that are auto trans related and car will only idle for a few seconds then die. I also have no response when i step the gas pedal. The tuner i bought the ecm from said he wasnt able to program my VIN to the replacement ecm. Any ideas on next step?

You need to have the pcm tuned for a six speed. Either GM can program it for you or someone who is a tuner can change it

Also changing the vin in the pcm doesn’t do anything for you. You could put any vin number you want in a pcm if you have the ability to do it. You need the right programming in the computer to work properly with your vehicle. That’s what truly matters.

We only have access to an Autel Scanner. Do u know if this scanner is capable of tuning the car to a manual instead of an automatic?

Honestly I don’t know but I would think not. You either need to have the GM programming so then you can program it to your vin number straight from GM or you need to have something like hp tuners and take a six speed stock file put into your pcm.
