Air temp and VE table question

Does air temperature have any effect on VE table tuning? I.e. would VE tables from a 50 degree day still be good on a 120 degree day?

The PCM factors air temp into its density calculations, so in theory air temp changes should make no difference.

In practice, the air temp sensor can be affected by heat in the engine bay. The engine coolant temp bias tables exist to help with that.
