I'd venture to guess 55kpa is pretty damn good for that cam. Stock is low 40's?

My junk idles at 75kpa....

I read all these threads about how people with much bigger cams use the word "mild" but I can't see how that is possible. I moved the timing and AFR all around and not much changes. I had a professional assist, not much different. Is this about it, or is this something about the BTR cams that makes them a little rougher?

Combo - L94, BTR Stage 2 225/238 .620/605 113 lsa 113+3, LS3 intake/DBW TB/injectors, headers/Holley TermX/TH400/

Thanks
Every combo is different but that should idle between 750-800rpm would be my guess. If your AFR is stable and your timing is smooth then there isnt much else to do to smooth it. I usually leave idle spark on, if its going all over the place usually something else is set wrong and its trying to use timing to correct it. What is the TPS and IAC position doing at idle?

Sounds great - and rowdy. I guess any positive overlap will allow exhaust to back up into the intake. So should I insist on a cam with no more that 0 overlap???

55-56 in neutral, 59-60 in gear at 800-850. 75kpa that motor must be ready to jump out from under the hood lol

Yep. That cam in my car was old shelf grind offered in 112 or 114 lsa. The 114 LSA idled almost smooth in another car I heard it in. -2 degrees overlap vs +2. I also had 1.85 rockers instead of 1.7. So that likely added a touch of duration at the valve which likely contributed to a little more chop. KPA was around 45-50 @ idle.

Thinking about swapping in an Ls9, Ls3 or maybe the cam motion stg 1 Ls3 cam which is 212/222 116. Do you guys think the cammotion cam will make a lot more power than the factory cams? Thank you.

Not quite your build but it’s a good example of how it should be.

great video thank you. And I’m am shocked at the loss of low-end over the LS3 cam when all the advertising for these cams show GAINS in low end. Might as well run the LS9 cam if you have to have that kinda loss down low.

Yup. My ProCharged LY6 with Jam cam sounds similar.
