Terminator X Max: DBW LS3 First Start - Won't Idle Just finishing up my 1969 Camaro with LS3 swap. Holley Terminator X max with drive-by-wire throttle body. Fuel pressure set to 55PSI. Basic rundown is below:
Ready to fire! https://www.pro-touring.com/attachme...9&d=1661861321 Hit the key again and she sputtered a little and almost fired. Decided to try a little throttle and she roared to life. Ran great as long as my foot was on the pedal slightly. MAN this thing is rowdy with open headers lol. Died as soon as I took my foot off the throttle. Checked all 8 primarys, all hot, so i know we are firing on all 8 now. Was great to hear this thing make noise for the first time in 8 months. If anyone has any ideas why it won't idle on its own, i'm all ears. Still new to the holley system. Its got a big cam, maybe it just needs more idle airflow. https://advertising.forumexcellence....&cb=dd709bbd57Right now the wideband is right at the header collector, which is probably gathering air. Do these systems operate like the OEM systems where the o2 sensors don't affect fueling until closed loop once the engine warms up? Didn't smell super rich or anything. Cant figure out a way to attach my tune file here. Maybe someone can take a look if I can figure out a way to attach it? |
You will need to adjust the DBW settings and open the throttle. Your going to also need to make it run in open loop with no learn with open headers. |

Update: Got it idling pretty well by cranking up the DBW setting: pedal position vs. throttle position, and also turning off closed loop and "learn". Thanks for the suggestions! |
