Default E Rod 6.2 issues

Just finished an erod swap into a 72 c10. Startup is good after the initial flare and it settles down to base idle. I have roughly 550 rpm and surge. Maf is installed per gm instuctions. All grounds are secure and clean. Throttle response is ok with idle hanging a second or two after blipping the throttle. I have not performed crank variation yet. Could this help with the idle issues? Also intermittently has a 2-3 second run after key is switched off. The ignition wire is connected to ign term on fuse panel. When it continues to run ther is 0 volts at the ign run wire. Any ideas are appreciated

I have an E-rod 6.2 that idles at 550. I thought it was too low but everything else seems ok?

What HP rating?
The 480/490 version has been known to surge.

Didn't some versions have an issue where you couldn't lower the idle speed below 900 or something or am I thinking of something else?

Yes, same tune file.

We fixed the surging by putting a honeycomb in front of the MAF.

So I was able to get a scanner on it. Has some maf codes and it actually went into limp mode. I’ll dig deeper tomorrow. I just remember the throttle body has been swapped out with a professional products one.
