Default term-x-max vss signal tap

for any of the guru's out there that might know this, can I tap a signal from my existing term-x- vss to run an aftermarket dash without causing interference/signal loss with my term x ecm? I built a digital dash for my 66 Buick Special and would really like the speedo to work without tapping an output from the ecm. If I can just rob some signal from the VSS it'd be perfect. The aftermarket setup runs off of a standard 8,000ppm signal so if I wouldn't get too much signal loss using the dash AND the term x I'm guessing it will work? Thanks, Bill

If you are using a Terminator X Max you should enable the Speedo Output in the Trans ICF and wire it to the speedometer. This will also allow you to specify whatever PPM rotation it needs. If I can help you with this and with the tuning, let me know.

I know I can use that output if needed but was hoping to save it for some possible expansion later down the road if I decide to boost this motor. I was really hoping that the signal was strong enough to run both the ECM for the trans as well as give me a signal to my dash. I bought a stub harness from Current Performance and heard from several folks that it will work. Fingers are crossed for now! Thanks!!

It may work, but may cause glitches. The VR speed sensor signal should not be split out.
