PCM Question
Best advice would be to call a tuner and get them to help you with this. I just pulled a stock tune file with HP Tuners from an ECU that came out of an 02 Z28 with automatic transmission in order to get a start up tune for my 99 Camaro build. The car originally came with a V6 and the tuner did not want to use the V6 ECU to write a tune for the V8 for some reason. My guess is that it saves time working with one from a V8 car but he will have to disable the VATS in order for the ECU to work in my car.
They'll probably charge one billed hour of shop labor, since that seems to be typical for module programming. In reality, it only takes about 10-15 minutes of real time once they're plugged in and going. I did essentially the same thing for myself when I needed a manual transmission OS for my LS4 swap into my Monte Carlo. I only had to pay the $45 access to license a Vin in Techline Connect to do my own programming at home. If you own or have access to a J2534 pass through device, you can do the same as I did. I just picked applicable VIN when I needed an OS that matched.
